The Patriots have now won a season-best eight games in a row. This marked the team’s second six-game sweep of the Yard Goats this season.
Hartford opened the scoring on a Michael Toglia (5) solo home run in the first, but that lead was short-lived. Dermis Garcia (28) and Isiah Gilliam (11) went back-to-back with solo home runs to put Somerset ahead 2-1 in the second.

The Patriots went up 3-1 on a Brandon Lockridge stolen base of home in the third inning before a four-run fourth put Somerset comfortably ahead. A run-scoring wild pitch, Lockridge RBI single and an Oswald Peraza (11) two-run shot highlighted the inning.
Oswaldo Cabrera added an RBI single in the sixth before two more late home runs - a Jason Lopez (4) solo blast in the seventh and a Michael Beltre (16) two-run homer in the eighth - topped off the scoring at 11-3.
Sean Boyle (W, 2-0) allowed one unearned run across three innings of relief for the win. Hartford starter Andrew Quezada (L, 0-1) yielded five runs over 3.1 innings and suffered the loss.
With the win, the Patriots remain 1.0 game up on the Bowie Baysox and 3.5 games up on the Portland Sea Dogs for the final playoff spot in the Double-A Northeast League with six games to play in the regular season.
The Patriots are off Monday before they begin a six-game series against the Akron RubberDucks Tuesday morning. First pitch at Canal Park is set for 11:05 a.m.
