He ended that slump in a big way.
The Athletics No. 17 prospect drilled a pair of two-run homers off
"I was able to keep the weight back well tonight," Olson said. "I've been seeing the ball pretty well lately and making good contact on the balls that I should be hitting."
With two outs and a runner on in the first inning and after fouling off two pitches from Carpenter (2-2), Olson put the Sounds on the board with a homer just inside the right field foul pole.

"When I was 1-2, he threw an inside two-seamer and I was able to pull my hands in and get the barrel to it," he said. "It barely stayed fair. I was surprised that I was able to keep it fair. It actually looked as if it came back and had a little bit of fade on it."
Olson tagged Carpenter for another two-run homer in the sixth, sending a 2-1 fastball over the fence in right. That gave Nashville a 6-3 lead and ended Carpenter's night.
Getting ahead in the count has been a hallmark of Olson's game as he's drawn more than 400 walks in his Minor League career.
"I've kind of always had a good eye and have been able to lay off bad pitches," he said. "But at the same time, there's always things to be worked on and things I can get better at. So now I just need to stick to my routine and get ready for the next one."
The 2012 first-round pick collected an infield hit to second base in the eighth.
"It's always nice to get those little lucky hits here and there," the Georgia native said. "For every lineout, there's one of those, so I was definitely happy to steal one there."
In 28 games, Olson is batting.262/.369/.495 with seven homers and 18 RBIs. Besides hitting three homers in his last four games, he's shown solid plate discipline with two strikeouts in his last five contests.
"I'm not doing anything differently, in particular," Olson said. "The way things are going right now, not just for me but in our lineup, it's a lot of fun to play and to watch and I think that helps."
