Southern League Weekly Recap: May 18

We are now just one month away from the 2018 Southern League All-Star Game in Birmingham, Alabama. With that in mind, check out the latest list of who might make their way onto their division's 25-man midseason roster.
Players named below are plugged in to each roster spot purely based on their division, defensive position, and OPS (on-base + slugging percentage), which could give us a little unofficial insight into possible All-Star selections.

The Mississippi Braves have been bolstered all season by outfielder Michael Reed, who ranks among the league leaders in a number of categories including batting average, on-base percentage, and runs scored.

The Mobile BayBears made history once again this past week, throwing their second combined no-hitter of the season; this time against the Birmingham Barons. Once again, Griffin Canning started the game while Ryan Clark sealed the win. The two became the first pitcher(s) to be a part of two Southern League no-hitters in less than three weeks since former Cardinals hurler Ryan Franklin was part of two no-hitters in April 1997.

In Montgomery, the Biscuits will transform into the Greenbow Biscuits on Friday, June 1; honoring the timeless classic Forrest Gump. Check out the custom uniforms below.
