Sugar Land, TX – The Space Cowboys scored six runs over the first two frames, including five in the first, and held the Isotopes scoreless over the final seven innings to win, 9-2, Friday night at Constellation Field.
Albuquerque tallied six hits, a double and two homers. Coco Montes and Sam Hilliard each hit solo jacks. Wynton Bernardrecorded two hits, including a double. Lopes **and Dom Nuñez** also registered singles.
Albuquerque took a 1-0 lead in the first on Hilliard’s solo blast. However, Sugar Land then plated five runs to take a 5-1 advantage.
The Isotopes got a run back in the second on a Montes solo clout. In the home half of the frame, a Taylor Jones homer pushed the deficit back to four, 6-2.
Sugar Land added to their lead, 7-2, in the fifth on a Marty Costes RBI single. The Space Cowboys scored two more runs on a Corey Julks two-run dinger.
Karl Kauffmann was charged with the loss after allowing seven runs over 5.0 innings.
