A scary situation unfolded Tuesday afternoon at Iowa's Principal Park.

Poncedeleon was immediately tended to by trainers for both teams and was surrounded by concerned teammates as well as Caratini on the mound. Upon being lifted onto the cart, Poncedeleon was able to wave to the crowd before being taken to an ambulance beyond the fence in right field.
No updates were immediately available on the condition of the 25-year-old right-hander, and Memphis manager Stubby Clapp declined comment when reached by MiLB.com. The Redbirds skipper told the Des Moines Register'that it was "the ugliest thing I've seen."
Poncedeleon is 2-0 with a 2.17 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 25 strikeouts and 13 walks over 29 innings in six starts for the Redbirds. The 2014 ninth-round pick was a non-roster invitee to Major League Spring Training and tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings for the big club before being sent to Minor League camp. He posted a 3.52 ERA with 122 strikeouts over 151 innings last season for Double-A Springfield.
