Stankiewicz dominates in 10-0 Sea Dogs win

Portland, Maine - Teddy Stankiewicz (W, 6-8) fired eight scoreless innings, and Josh Ockimey went 3-for-3 with 3 RBI, leading the Portland Sea Dogs (39-57) to a 10-0 win over the Hartford Yard Goats (47-48) in the series opener on Thursday night at Hadlock Field.

Stankiewicz scattered three hits (single, double, and triple) without a walk and fanned six, tying a team-high with eight innings pitched.
Ockimey ignited the scoring in the second inning, leading off the frame with a solo-homer (#13) off losing pitcher Ryan Castellani (5-6). Castellani allowed nine hits and eight runs (seven earned) over five innings pitched. In the third, Ockimey nailed a two-out RBI double to give Portland a 2-0 lead.
In the fourth, the 'Dogs scored three times, as Deiner Lopez (2-for-4) added an RBI single, plus a throwing error brought in the second run. Jeremy Rivera capped off the scoring in the fourth with a sac-fly.
The 'Dogs put another three-spot on the board in the fifth inning. Johnny Bladel knocked in a run with a groundout, and Jhon Nunez (3-for-4) delivered a two-run single. Danny Mars hit a solo-homer (#3) in the sixth and Ockimey provided a sac-fly for the final run of the night.
Jordan Weems closed out the game with a scoreless ninth.
The Sea Dogs and Hartford Yard Goats (Rockies affiliate) meet on Friday night with a 7:00 PM start at Hadlock. Lefty Matt Kent (5-7, 3.74) takes on Hartford's RHP Jesus Tinoco (6-7, 5.21). The ZOOperstars are at Hadlock Field on Friday night with tickets available at seadogs.com or 207-879-9500.
