Somerset’s lineup featured a pair of rehabbing former MLB MVP’s in 3B Josh Donaldson (1-for- 4) and DH Giancarlo Stanton (0-for-3, BB).
Additionally, Yankees RHP Tommy Kahnle threw 1 IP of relief, allowing 1 R on 1 H with a strikeout.
RHP Richard Fitts (6 IP, 2 R, 8 H, 8 K, 1 BB) struck out 8+ for the third time this season, throwing a career high 100 pitches in the ballgame.
SS Trey Sweeney (1-for-3, HR) brought the Patriots sole run of the game home with a leadoff home run in the 3rd inning, coming on the 10th pitch of his at-bat. The homer marked the third of the season off the bat of the Yankees No. 5 prospect and second against Portland.
