Starting pitcher Freddy Peralta promoted to Biloxi, Mejia placed on DL
BILOXI, MS - The Milwaukee Brewers announced the following roster moves on Thursday. RHP Freddy Peralta has been transferred to Double-A Biloxi and C Natanael Mejía has been placed on disabled list retroactive to June 15.
BILOXI, MS - The Milwaukee Brewers announced the following roster moves on Thursday. RHP Freddy Peralta has been transferred to Double-A Biloxi and C Natanael Mejía has been placed on disabled list retroactive to June 15.
Peralta, 21, had gone 1-3 with a 3.04 earned run average in 12 games, eight of them starts, for the Advanced-A Carolina Mudcats. He struck out 78 batters in 56.1 innings, and held opponents to a .189 batting average. The #19 prospect in the Brewers system according to MLB.com Pipeline was acquired after the 2015 season from Seattle as part of a trade for first baseman
Mejia, 24, was transferred to Biloxi's roster on June 15 but did not enter a game. The catcher had one at-bat during an earlier stint with the Shuckers this season.

The Shuckers begin the second half of their season on Friday in a doubleheader against the Mississippi Braves after Thursday's game was rained out due to Tropical Depression Cindy.
