On a night where the offense scored runs in six of nine innings, the Biloxi Shuckers (28-30) cruised to an 11-4 victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts (31-29) on Thursday night at AT&T Field.

The Shuckers worked out of a jam in the bottom of the first inning. After Francisco Urbaez doubled and Michael De Leon singled, starter Justin Bullock struck out three of the next four batters, leaving the bases full and keeping the game scoreless heading to the second. Biloxi’s offense gave their starter the lead when Felix Valerio and Cam Devanney both singled in front of Gabe Holt, who doubled in a run to make it 1-0. Bullock then retired the final six batters he faced, giving him three scoreless innings on the night.

Biloxi added a run in the top of the third inning on a solo home run to left by Jakson Reetz, his 13th of the year, making it 2-0 Shuckers. In the fifth, Noah Campbell and Sal Frelick both singled off RHP Carson Spiers (L, 0-2) and three hitters later, Thomas Dillard launched a three-run blast to center, his fifth of the year, vaulting Biloxi ahead 5-0.

RHP Carlos Luna (W, 1-4) covered five innings for the Shuckers, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out eight. Biloxi’s offense continued to support their pitching in the top of the sixth as Cam Devanney launched a solo home run to left, his second consecutive day with a homer and ninth of the season, pushing the Shuckers back out to a 6-1 lead. A double by Campbell, a walk to Frelick and an infield single by Wiemer loaded up the bases and another run came home when Reetz reached on a fielding error.

Three more runs came in to score in the seventh on a wild pitch, another double by Holt and a sacrifice fly by Frelick. The Shuckers’ center fielder would touch home again after tripling to lead off the ninth inning and racing home on an RBI groundout by Wiemer in the ninth. Every Shuckers’ batter recorded at least one hit in the game with Devanney extending his hitting streak to 10 games, Dillard pushing his on-base streak to 17 games and Frelick moving his on-base streak to 15 games.

Leading the series two games to one, the Shuckers and Lookouts continue their six-game tilt on Friday night. LHP Nick Bennett (2-5, 5.36) is set to take the hill for Biloxi while RHP Eduardo Salazar (4-5, 6.19) is set to start for Chattanooga for a 6:15 pm CDT first pitch.
