Tuesday
In a modified doubleheader, the Stone Crabs and Hammerheads continued a suspended 1-1 game in the seventh inning in Game 1. Michael Velasquez was credited with eight innings of relief over two days, striking out nine and allowing only five hits while surrendering a single run. Thomas Milone's solo home run in the bottom of the tenth gave the Stone Crabs the victory as they walked off on the opposition's field.
In Game 2, Brock Burke hurled a gem. The lefty fanned a career-high 12 batters over eight innings of two run ball to lead Charlotte to a 5-2 win. The dozen strikeouts shattered the Stone Crabs' previous 2017 single-game high of nine Ks, set by Travis Ott in late July. Ryan Boldt and Michael Brosseau each notched two hits and drove in a run.
Wednesday
The Stone Crabs continued their dynamic pitching Wednesday, pushing a no-hit bid into the eighth inning in a 2-0 win. Burch Smith went six hitless innings while striking out nine to earn the win. Charlotte's one hit allowed tied a season-best as Kevin Padlo and Riley Unroe both delivered homers to account for all the scoring.
Thursday
Eduar Lopez turned in another gem Thursday, going seven innings without allowing an earned run. Charlotte scored a run in the first inning but couldn't do anything else, falling 2-1 in 12 innings. Zach Sullivan's 12th inning single off Spencer Jones salvaged the finale for Jupiter.
