(www.sultanes.com.mx / Prensa Sultanes) 19 de abril de 2022.- Sultanes de Monterrey y Mobil Super, han celebrado una de las Alianzas Comerciales más importantes en la historia del deporte en México, en la que nuestro "Palacio Sultán", ahora llevará oficialmente el nombre de: "Estadio Mobil Super".
Sultanes de Monterrey es el club de mayor tradición en el beisbol mexicano, desde su fundación en 1939, acumula 83 años ininterrumpidos formando parte de la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol y en 2019, se convirtió en la primera organización en participar en las dos ligas más importantes de nuestro país, al incorporarse a la Liga Mexicana del Pacífico.
La construcción del inmueble inició en 1989, y fue finalmente inaugurado en 1990. El Ing. José Maiz Mier, fue quien encabezó este ambicioso proyecto y tras años de esfuerzos, consiguió hacer el sueño realidad y brindarle un mejor estadio a su amado equipo.
A 32 años de su inauguración, el Palacio Sultán ha sido testigo de grandes eventos, en 1996 celebró la primera serie de temporada regular oficial de Grandes Ligas en territorio mexicano, con el enfrentamiento entre Mets de Nueva York y Padres de San Diego; en 1999 celebró el Juego Inaugural de Ligas Mayores entre Rockies de Colorado y Padres de San Diego, es casa del principal evento de Lucha Libre: Triplemanía, además, ha servido de sede para conciertos de artistas como Gustavo Cerati, Selena, Juan Gabriel, Sting, El Tri, entre otros grandes eventos.
La alianza entre Sultanes de Monterrey y Mobil Super, empresa líder en el desarrollo de tecnologías para aceites de motor, ha desencadenado de manera exitosa en establecer un nuevo nombre para nuestro querido hogar: "Estadio Mobil Super", primera ocasión que esto sucede tras 32 años de invaluable historia.
El Lic. Gerardo Maiz García, en representación de su hermano, Ing. José Maiz García y en memoria de su padre, Ing. José Maiz Mier (QEPD), agradeció la confianza de Mobil Super y recordó parte de la historia de quienes han forjado este gran palacio: "Construir este estadio fue un gran sueño para mi padre, nuestra familia trabajó mucho para que ese sueño fuera una realidad, hoy nos llena de orgullo saber que este estadio llevará el nombre de Mobil Super".
El Director de Ventas Automotrices de Exxon Mobil, Luis Domínguez, aseguró que es un orgullo la unión que se ha conformado este día y afirmó que cuando dos grandes se juntan, cosas más grandes aún surgen: "Nos llena de orgullo y emoción el ser parte de esta historia. Nosotros como marca Mobil, no solo queremos participar el día de hoy, nosotros hemos sido parte importante de la evolución de Sultanes desde hace años. Nos llena de satisfacción ser parte de este logro y además nos genera un gran compromiso como marca representar estas maravillosas instalaciones".
En el anuncio de esta gran noticia, el Director General de Comercial Essex, Jorge Guerra Treviño, recalcó la importancia de esta unión con Sultanes de Monterrey, pues esto permitirá un acercamiento muy importante para su empresa con la gran Familia Sultán: " Agradezco a toda la familia sultán permitirnos ser parte de ella, agradezco los esfuerzos por obtener el naming del estadio; fue nuestro primer sueño desde el día uno y poderlo lograr es muy meritorio. Nosotros como representantes de la marca Mobil, estamos orgullosos de invertir en esta oportunidad que se nos da. Ojalá que el equipo nos de la satisfacción, ¿por qué no? de ser campeones en nuestro primer año con el nombre del estadio".
El Lic. Guillermo "Willie" González, vicepresidente de Sultanes de Monterrey, aseguró que la alianza entre los "Fantasmas Grises" y Mobil Super, motiva a la organización completa a seguir creciendo como empresa: "Estamos permanentemente buscando un crecimiento y un entretenimiento con nuestros aficionados que es la base y lo más importante de todo, pero esto no sería posible sin nuestros patrocinadores; le queremos dar un agradecimiento muy especial a Armando Garza (Director comercial de Comercial Essex), a Luis Domínguez (Director de Ventas Automotrices de Exxon Mobil) y a Jorge Guerra (Director General de Comercial Essex) por todo lo que nos han apoyado desde el día uno.
"Desde ese día uno, los interesados de tener el naming del estadio fue Mobil Super; les agradecemos mucho la confianza, insistimos durante cinco años hasta lograrlo. Hoy en día es motivo de satisfacción y orgullo que la casa que construyó el Ingeniero Maiz, cambie de nombre y lo vamos a representar con mucho orgullo, ¡Bienvenido al Estadio Mobil Super!".
En Sultanes de Monterrey, nos llena de orgullo la unión que hemos establecido con Mobil Super, quienes por años han apoyado al deporte de nuestro estado y nuestro país, y hoy, representará el nombre comercial de nuestro estadio, el de mayor ambiente y entretenimiento en América Latina.
