The Idaho Falls Chukars got out to a 10-0 lead in the 4th inning and cruised to a 13-4 victory over the Great Falls Voyagers on Sunday afternoon at Centene Stadium.
The 4th inning extended the Chukars lead to 9-0 after an
Chukars pitcher Jonathan Heasley was outstanding on Sunday afternoon, working 5 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 strikeout. Heasley had 11 ground ball outs and only 1 flyout. It was the first professional win for Heasley, who was drafted in the 13th round of the 2018 draft by the Royals.
The Chukars head to Billings to take on the North division leaders, who have a 11-3 record in the 2nd half. It will be the Pioneer League debut for LHP Rito Lugo, who will start for Idaho Falls. He will be opposed by Billings RHP
Chukars notes: James has 13 multi-stolen base games this year. To put that in perspective, Nate Eaton is 2nd in the Pioneer League in Stolen Bases this year. He has a total of 13 stolen bases. Hunter Strong had another good game for the Chukars as he went 3 for 5 with 1 RBI and a double.
