Taveras and Tejeda Homer in Win over Pelicans

Taveras's blast was his second of the season, and the first hit of the game for the Wood Ducks in the fourth inning. They would add two more runs in the frame on a throwing error and an RBI double from Altmann.
Tejeda went yard with one out in the sixth and matched Altmann's tally of five homers to lead the team. He also collected RBIs 24 and 25, as the Wood Ducks are one of only two teams in the league to feature at three players with at least 20 RBIs.
Meanwhile, Arredondo stranded five runners on base in his first five innings, but exited with the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth.
At night's end, lefties are now only 1-for-21 against St. John this season with 14 strikeouts. The eighth inning was a struggle for
C.D. Pelham was called for the ninth, and retired the side in order for his fourth save of the year. He now has eight straight scoreless outings, spanning over eight and two-thirds innings.
