TACOMA, Wash. -- Tacoma Rainiers infielder Taylor Motter has been named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for August 14-20, the league announced today.
Motter played in five games with the Rainiers during that period, hitting .700 (14x20) with nine runs, two doubles, one triple, two home runs, and six RBI. He led the circuit in hits, batting average, and runs over the course of the week. The strong performance earned Motter a promotion back to Seattle on Sunday, August 20.

Over 25 games with Tacoma from July 24 - August 18, Motter hit .350 (35x100) with 24 runs scored, six doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 18 RBI, and six stolen bases.
Motter is the second Rainiers player to earn weekly honors this season, and the first Tacoma position player to secure the honors since Mike Zunino was named Player of the Week for April 7-17, 2016.
Just six home games remain in the Tacoma Rainiers regular season schedule, including a matchup against the El Paso Chihuahuas tonight at 7:05 p.m. PT at Cheney Stadium.
