Taylor Williams returns from the disabled list, Wendell Rijo transferred to Carolina

BILOXI, MS - The Milwaukee Brewers announced the following roster moves on Friday. RHP Taylor Williams activated from the 7-day DL and in a corresponding move, INF Wendell Rijo transferred to Advanced-A Carolina from Biloxi. 

Williams, 26, has appeared in 16 games this season for the Shuckers, 14 starts, going 0-2 with a 3.72 ERA. In 38.2 IP, the Camas, WA native has recorded 47 strikeouts. Williams began the 2015 season as the eighth-best prospect in the organization according to Baseball America. He did not pitch during the 2015 or 2016 seasons due to Tommy John surgery. The Brewers' fourth round pick in 2013 was added to the 40-man roster in November 2016 after missing his second consecutive season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Rijo, 21, returns to Advanced-A Carolina where he began the 2017 season. In 41 games for the Shuckers as a utility infielder, Rijo batted .185 with three doubles and five RBI. Over 15 games for the Carolina Mudcats, Rijo batted .238 with five doubles and four RBI. The La Romana, DR native was acquired by the Brewers, along with pitcher Aaron Wilkerson , in exchange for INF Aaron Hill on July 7, 2016.
The Shuckers current roster is at the league-maximum of 25 players.

The Shuckers will try to make it five wins in a row on Friday night as Luis Ortiz faces off against Duane Underwood Jr..
