Tecos: Para Rangel Ravelo es momento de pasar la página en 2025

(www.tecolotes2laredos.com - Juan Alanís) 20 de marzo de 2025.- Tener desde el día uno a Rangel Ravelo en la pretemporada le ha caído de ‘maravilla’ al Club Tecos, que con el cubano cuenta con un primera base que viene en ritmo y forma para encarar la Temporada 2025 de la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol.
El cubano de 32 años de edad regresa para jugar su segunda campaña en el verano mexicano, luego de que en el 2024 reforzara a Tecos en el cierre del rol regular.
Llegaste en la recta final, tuviste un gran cierre de temporada, ¿cómo viviste ese momento con Tecos el año pasado?
“Contento y agradecido con la oportunidad que me dieron aquí, fue un grato recibimiento tanto la afición como el cuerpo técnico, con muchos de los muchachos con los que había jugado en ligas de invierno”, señaló.
Cinco cuadrangulares y 15 carreras impulsadas sumó Ravelo en los 21 juegos que disputó con los Dos Laredos el año pasado, cruzando el plato en 16 ocasiones. Posteriormente, en 17 encuentros de playoffs, ‘La Maravilla’ acumuló la misma cantidad de imparables con tres para la calle y siete producciones -cuatro de ellas en un mismo juego ante Monclova con par de vuelacercas-.
El ex Grandes Ligas manifestó haberse quedado con la espinita de no avanzar a la Serie del Rey anterior. “No pudimos llegar a la final pero este año el equipo se ve muy bien, hay muchos peloteros con experiencia de Grandes Ligas, el pitcheo se ve bien contundente, va a ser una difícil decisión para Félix Fermín”, comentó entre risas.
La particularidad de jugar un día en territorio mexicano y al siguiente en Estados Unidos la tomó de la mejor manera el antillano, quien de la afición de Tecos se refiere de la mejor manera.
“Tanto aquí en Laredo, Texas como en Nuevo Laredo el ambiente es grato, se siente una armonía y para nosotros los peloteros latinos eso es bueno, pone un poquito más de adrenalina”.
¿Qué crees que le faltó a Tecos el año pasado respecto a lo que se ha trabajado en este 2025?
“Es parte del juego, dimos el 100 por ciento cada uno de nosotros”, expresó, “creo que la clave fue que hubo par de pitchers que se lesionaron. Pero ya lo pasado, pasado está, ahora a pasar la página y dar el 200 por ciento cada uno de nosotros y traer el campeonato que tanto se anhela”.
Campeón en la Temporada 2024-2025 con Cardenales de Lara, de Venezuela, Ravelo disputó 39 juegos de campaña regular en el reciente invierno, impulsando 31 carreras y volándose la barda en cinco ocasiones; en total disparó 19 hits en 74 turnos legales. Su average en playoffs fue de .321, detonando cinco cuadrangulares con 29 producidas.
Dichos méritos le dieron a Rangel Ravelo la oportunidad de representar a Venezuela en la Serie del Caribe donde colaboró con cuatro carreras producidas, tres anotadas y siete imparables en cinco cotejos. Después llegó el descanso obligado de aproximadamente un mes, que le dio la oportunidad de pasar el tiempo en familia y así poder llegar temprano a la pretemporada emplumada.
El primera base concluyó señalando que aportará lo mejor de sí para colaborar en ganar juegos y obtener otro campeonato en su carrera profesional.
Ya con ocho días cumplidos en el entrenamiento de los fronterizos, este jueves la práctica tomó más forma con Live BP para la serpentina de Nick Margevicius, Sean Poppen, Caleb Baragar, Eston Stull, Skylar Arias (Z), Andrew Vasquez (Z), Cameron Vieaux (Z), Theo Denlinger y Beau Burrows.
