(Eastlake, OH) - Midwest League President Richard A. Nussbaum II announced the rosters for the 2018 MWL All-Star Game this afternoon and three Captains made the cut.
Benson, the Indians' first round pick in 2016, has had a well-rounded year at the plate. The 19-year old outfielder leads the Captains in home runs and is tied for third in the league with nine long balls. Benson also leads Lake County and is fifth in the Midwest League with 38 walks, increasing his BB% by nearly 5% from last year.
Nelson has been one of the league's toughest bullpen arms in 2018. The 21-year old southpaw has given up just one earned run in 20.1 innings for a microscopic 0.44 ERA. Nelson has struck out 26 batters and walked just two.
DeJuneas, a 22-year old right-hander, has also posted strong numbers in relief for Lake County. The North Carolina State product has struck out 34 batters in 26.1 innings and has walked just six men. DeJuneas owns a 3.76 ERA.
