Three Four-run Innings for Travs in Win over Tulsa

Tulsa, OK-The Arkansas Travelers offense continued their sweet swinging in Tulsa as they banged out 12 runs on 14 hits in a 12-4 win on Tuesday night. The runs came in a trio of four run frames and increase the Travs offensive totals through three games in this series to 32 runs on 42 hits.
               The first inning saw Arkansas send nine batters to the plate and knock the Drillers' starter Andrew Sopko (2-5) out before the inning was over. A double steal by Ian Miller and Chuck Taylor with a throwing error brought in the first run of the game. Dario Pizzano ripped an RBI double later in the inning followed by a sacrifice fly from Marcus Littlewood and another RBI double, this one from Ryan Casteel. Sopko was charged with all four runs while facing just eight batters and recording only two outs.
               In the fifth inning, the Travs pulled away scoring four more runs as Dario Pizzano hit a two-run single and Ryan Casteel popped a two-run double. The final tallies of the night came in the ninth inning as the Travs loaded the bases with no outs. Kyle Waldrop lifted a sac fly to score one and then Seth Mejias-Brean followed with a three-run homer. Arkansas forced the Drillers to use six pitchers in the game, scoring four runs off three of the six.
               On the flip side, Anthony Misiewicz improved his record to 2-1 by pitching his third quality start in four appearances for Arkansas. The left-hander worked six innings allowing three runs on five hits with three walks and a pair of strikeouts. Peter Tago and Zac Curtis then combined to close out the game.
               Mejias-Brean and Pizzano paced the Travs with three hits apiece while Miller and Casteel had two each with both of Casteel's being doubles. Mejias-Brean, Pizzano and Casteel each drove in three runs.
               The Travelers go for a series win over the Drillers on Tuesday night in Tulsa. First pitch is set for 7:05 with right-hander Lindsey Caughel (6-8, 4.78) going against righty Josh Sborz (4-6, 4.18).
