Three Isotopes Headed to Arizona Fall League

The Colorado Rockies will send three current Isotopes to the Arizona Fall League this autumn. Starting pitchers Zach Jemiola and Yency Almonte along with reliever James Farris will join the Salt River Rafters when the Fall League begins play in October.

The Arizona Fall League is an offseason league owned and operated by Major League Baseball, which operates during the autumn in Arizona at six different baseball complexes. The Arizona Fall League attracts many of the top prospects in Minor League Baseball.
Almonte, 23, will be participating in the Arizona Fall League for the first time this offseason. The Miami, Fla. native is in his first season with the Isotopes after being promoted from Double-A Hartford in July. Almonte currently ranks as MLB.com's 10^th-best prospect in the Rockies system.
Jemiola, 23, will be joining the Rafters for the second-consecutive offseason. The Temecula, Calif. native started seven games in 2016 for Salt River in the Fall League, going 1-3 with a 5.64 ERA and averaged 7.7 strikeouts per nine innings.
Farris, 25, pitched for the Mesa Solar Sox during the 2016 offseason. The University of Arizona graduate and Gilbert, Ariz. native did not allow a run in eight outings, recording a WHIP of 0.700. MLB.com ranks Farris as the Rockies 21^st-best prospect.
