JACKSON, TENN. - The Jackson Generals are thrilled to announce that three additional Generals players have been added to the North Division roster for the 2018 Southern League All-Star Game.

Utility player Galli Cribbs Jr., as well as right-handed pitchers Justin Donatella and Mason McCullough, will all suit up to play at Regions Field on Tuesday, June 19 in in light of injuries and promotions affecting other All-Star players. The addition of the Jackson trio - combined with the original Jackson five of Taylor Widener, Rudy Flores Kevin Medrano, Juniel Querecuto, and Jamie Westbrook, who were selected earlier this month - brings the Generals' total to eight Mid-Season All-Stars, two higher than the team's 2016 total.
ORIGINAL ALL-STAR ANNOUCEMENT: FIVE GENERALS TO SUIT UP FOR NORTH DIVISION AT 2018 ALL-STAR GAME
Thanks in part to the contributions of Cribbs, Donatella, and McCullough, the Generals (35-29) entered the final series of the First Half with a half-game lead on the Montgomery Biscuits for first place in the North Division. Cribbs, who will be honored as an outfielder, leads the Southern League with eight triples currently the first two months of the year, while Donatella's 3.30 ERA as a starter and McCullough's .167 opponents' batting average as a reliever ranked among the best marks in the league with regard to their roles through June 12.
Ticket information for the 2018 Southern League All-Star Game in Birmingham, Ala. on Tuesday, June 19 can be found here.
UTILITY: Galli Cribbs - 61 games, 36 runs, 9 doubles, 8 triples, 3 home runs, 21 RBI, 4 stolen bases;
.250 BA/.372 OBP/.423 SLG; 3.46 range factor in 48 games at shortstop, 3.13 range factor in 8 games in center field
Cribbs, a first-time Mid-Season All-Star in any professional league, led the Southern League with seven triples through the season's first two months, and his defensive versatility, combined with his ability to get on base, made him a big component of the Jackson offense. Though he was nominally the Generals' everyday shortstop, Cribbs saw 15 games worth of action in the outfield for Jackson, where he proved a very capable defender because of his speed and quick reactions. He won Arizona's Minor League Hitter of the Month award in April, batting .351 with .473 on-base percentage and a league-high 20 runs scored. He hit for the cycle against Birmingham on April 18, collecting just his third career minor league homer on an inside-the-park round-tripper. A Sugar Land, Texas native, the 25-year-old Cribbs signed with the Diamondbacks as a non-drafted free agent out of Bellevue (Neb.) University in 2014.
PITCHER: Mason McCullough - 19 games (0 starts), 0-0 W-L, 16.2 IP, 10 hits, 10 runs, 17 walks, 18 strikeouts;
3.78 ERA/1.62 WHIP/.167 BAA; only Generals pitcher with a sub-.200 BAA and sub-2.00 ERA through May
Aided by a strong fastball-slider combination, McCullough earned his second straight year with a Mid-Season All-Star nod, building on his California League recognition in 2017. Along with teammate Kirby Bellow, McCullough is one of only 15 pitchers in the Southern League to have thrown at least 16.0 innings without giving up a home run this year. Though he's had only three appearances that lasted longer than an inning, McCullough was been very hard to hit against with runners in scoring position, holding 27 opposing hitters to a .125 batting average in those instances. The 25-year-old native of Shelby, N.C. was a 2014 MLB Draft selection by the Diamondbacks in the fifth round out of Lander (S.C.) University.
PITCHER: Justin Donatella - 13 games (10 starts), 3-3 W-L, 54.1 IP, 50 hits, 24 runs, 24 walks, 43 strikeouts;
3.48 ERA/1.36 WHIP/.240 BAA; top 10 in the SL through the first two months with a 3.16 ERA
Previously a 2016 Mid-Season All-Star with Kane County in the Midwest League, Donatella's efficiency and consistency earned him a reward with a bid to Birmingham. The six-foot-six right-hander flourished in May, throwing 29.0 innings over 7 appearances while holding opposing hitters to a .222 batting average. Donatella's best start featured just 86 pitches in seven innings against Pensacola on May 17, wherein he allowed only two runs on four hits in an eventual 3-2 Generals win. The 23-year-old Saugus, California native was a Diamondbacks selection out of UC-San Diego in the 15th round of the 2015 MLB Draft.
