Alexander Vizcaíno, the Cubs' No. 8 prospect per MLB Pipeline and part of the return in the trade that sent Anthony Rizzo to the Yankees last month, started what turned into a combined no-hitter for High-A South Bend against Fort Wayne on Thursday night.

The Cubs beat the TinCaps, 3-0, with the 24-year-old right-hander pitching the first two innings -- he hit Fort Wayne's leadoff batter, but then retired the next six straight with no walks and three strikeouts.

Vizcaíno then turned the ball over to South Bend's bullpen. Right-hander Joe Nahas came in and tossed the next six frames, walking one and striking out six. Left-hander Burl Carraway worked around a ninth-inning walk to pick up the save.

The Cubs scored all their runs in the seventh on a Bryce Windham RBI single and a two-run double by Yonathan Perlaza.
