Rome crossed the plate three times in the second inning highlighted by run scoring singles by Kurt Hoekstra and Jordan Rodgers and a sacrifice fly RBI by Marcus Mooney. The BlueClaws made it a 3-1 game in the sixth on Arquimedes Gamboa's sacrifice fly RBI and closed to within one in the eighth on Darick Hall's single to score a run. Taylor Lewis shut down Lakewood in the final frame to secure the 3-2 win.
Kevin Matthews (1-0), who came in the game in the fourth to relieve Ian Anderson, gets the win while Felix Paulino (3-2) is hit with the loss. Lewis earns his first save.
