CLEARWATER, Fl - The Clearwater Threshers squeezed by the Bradenton Marauders 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at BayCare Ballpark, securing their first home series win since May 10-15.

Right-hander Eiberson Castellano made his eighth start of the season on the mound for Clearwater, allowing no runs on only one hit and striking out two in two innings of work.

The Threshers (9-15, 44-45) opened the scoring in the second inning, using a double by catcher Andrick Nava and an RBI single by first baseman Micah Yonamine to make it 1-0. Yonamine finished the game 2-for-3.

Leading 1-0 in the third, the Threshers pushed home another run on an RBI sac-fly from center fielder Marcus Lee Sang to push their lead to 2-0.

The Marauders (15-9, 44-45) responded with two runs in the seventh inning, loading the bases and scoring twice on a two-run single by Tsung-Che Cheng off right-hander Konnor Ash to tie the contest 2-2.

Including Castellano and Ash, the Threshers used a total of eight hurlers in the game. Rehabbers Sam Coonrod and Cam Bedrosian tossed two combined scoreless innings, joining Alex McKenney, Matt Osterberg, Carlos Betancourt and Gabriel Yanez on the mound.

Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth, the Threshers used a leadoff triple by Wilfredo Flores and an RBI single by second baseman Hao Yu Lee to grab a late 3-2 lead.

The left-hander Yanez entered and locked down his second save of the season in the ninth, allowing only one hit to preserve the 3-2 victory and allow the Threshers to take two of three games over the weekend against the Marauders.

Following an off day Monday, Clearwater returns to action at home on Tuesday night to open a six-game series with the Dunedin Blue Jays. First pitch on Dollar Tuesday is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with coverage on the Threshers Broadcasting Network set to begin at 6:20 p.m.
