The Tigers got on the board first with the first RBI of the contest from the 19th-round draft pick, Carpenter, to make it 1-0. Connecticut added to their lead in the fifth with an RBI double down the left-field line by Nick Quintana. The 2019 second-round draft pick finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.
