Fort Wayne, Indiana – Aside from a solo home run from Joshua Mears the TinCaps offense went dormant in a 4-1 loss to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Brewers affiliate) 4-1 on Tuesday night at Parkview Field.
Fort Wayne (27-37) only notched five hits, one of them a solo home run from Mears, his first of the season. The 'Caps notched five hits but left eight men on base and went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.
On the mound, Enmanuel Pinales went five innings. It was smooth sailing for the starter through three, but in the fourth and fifth innings, Pinales allowed five hits and all four runs with two outs.
The bullpen did a fantastic job for the 'Caps, with four scoreless innings. Dwayne Matos pitched the sixth and seventh without allowing a baserunner. Bradgley Rodriguez (No. 28 Padres prospect) followed up with two scoreless innings, striking out five batters.
