FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The TinCaps held a one-run lead going into the eighth inning, but couldn't hold on in a 4-3 loss to the Dayton Dragons (Reds affiliate) on Friday night in front of 6,133 fans at Parkview Field.

Fort Wayne (2-5, 30-43) received a fantastic start from Henry Baez (No. 30 Padres prospect). The 21-year-old went seven innings, allowed just one run on two hits, struck out seven, and didn't walk or hit a single batter. It's the deepest Baez has gone in a start this season.

The 'Caps scored first in the first inning with an RBI double from designated hitter Jay Beshears (No. 27 Padres prospect) to bring in center fielder Homer Bush Jr. (No. 8 Padres prospect).

After the Dragons equalized in the ensuing half inning, Fort Wayne's second run came from Kai Murphy on an RBI double in the fifth inning. Murphy doubled again in the eighth. His 16 doubles on the season rank fourth in the Midwest League.

The TinCaps led 2-1 going into the eighth inning but Dayton (4-3, 38-35) plated two runs in the eighth to take the lead. Fort Wayne fought back in the bottom half with yet another RBI double, this time off the bat of first baseman Romeo Sanabria to tie the game at 3-3.

But in the ninth, Dragons DH Hector Rodriguez (No. 13 Reds prospect) hit a solo homer for the Dragons to go up 4-3.

The TinCaps have now played in a Midwest League-leading 26 one-run games. They're 11-15 in such contests.

On Margaritaville Night, the 'Caps wore Hawaiian shirt-themed jerseys that are being auctioned at TinCaps.com/auction with proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society.
