The Rocket City Trash Pandas defeated the Tennessee Smokies, 5-0, behind a brilliant performance from starting pitcher Jack Kochanowicz. Kochanowicz, who had a perfect game entering the seventh inning, tossed eight scoreless innings on two hits, no walks and six strikeouts. Rocket City scored all its runs after the fifth innings, putting up one in the sixth and seventh, as well as three runs in the top of the eighth.
Smokies starting pitcher Connor Noland also recorded a quality outing, but did not get any offensive support in the loss. In six innings of work, Noland allowed one earned run on three hits, one walk and eight strikeouts. For the first time this season, the Smokies did not have a walk offensively.
