Springfield, MO—The Arkansas Travelers rallied not once but twice late in the game for a 7-5 win over the Springfield Cardinals on Wednesday. After giving up a three-run first inning, the Travs were kept off the board until the sixth when they scored four times for the lead. After Springfield went back in front in the seventh, Arkansas immediately answered with three runs in the eighth inning to take the lead for good. Juan Mercedes, in his Double-A debut, was the winning pitcher throwing five innings and giving up just two runs. Devin Sweet earned his first save of the season.

Moments That Mattered

* Tanner Kirwer hit a two-run single to put the Travs on top in the sixth inning.

* Robert Perez, Jr. led off the eighth inning with a game-tying home run. Later in the inning it was Leo Rivas delivering a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded for the lead again.
