Travs Win Wild One on Mother's Day 8-7

The Travs won it in the ninth after seeing Springfield rally from a three run deficit. The Travelers built their lead after the Cardinals opened the game with a two run first inning. Arkansas answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, all scoring with two outs.
Wong would add to the lead in the third inning when he launched his first homer of the season. After the Cards came back with two in the fourth, the Travs again answered. This time it was
Springfield chipped away against the Trav bullpen getting a single tally in the sixth and then tying it with two in the eighth. Their eighth inning rally consisted of four walks and then Adolis Garcia racing home for a stolen base on a throw from the catcher back to the pitcher.
Miller's heroics were set up as the Travs loaded the bases with no outs. Marlette walked to open the inning and moved up on Littlewood's sac bunt when the Cards went for the lead runner but failed. Wong then came up with a hit to fill the bases and one batter later Miller lined the first pitch he saw from
Horstman (2-0) garnered the win while Hawkins (0-1) was charged with the loss.
In addition to the game-winning RBI, Miller was 3-6 overall in the game. Wong had a perfect day at the plate though. Using a pink bat on Mother's Day, Joey was 4-4 with a walk, the homerun and two knocked in.
The Travelers will welcome in the Northwest Arkansas Naturals for the start of a four game series Monday night beginning at 7:10. It will be a Funday Monday at Dickey-Stephens Park with free trackless train rides courtesy of Otey. Right-hander
