Trenton, NJ - The Trenton Thunder (8-7) scored three runs in the fourth inning and never looked back, defeating the Portland Sea Dogs (6-8), 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Hadlock Field. The series is tied at one game apiece.

The Sea Dogs compiled 14 baserunners (seven hits and seven walks) but finished 1-for-10 with runners-in-scoring position.
Luke Tendler gave the 'Dogs a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the second inning to score Tate Matheny. Tendler has 4 RBI in the series and reached base three times.
Trenton took the lead for good in the fourth inning against losing pitcher Dedgar Jimenez (0-2). Jhalen Jackson hit his league-leading sixth homer of the year, a two-run shot to left. Jorge Saez added a run-scoring groundout.
Jose Mesa Jr. (2-0) fired two scoreless innings to secure the win. Joe Harvey notched his third consecutive save with a perfect ninth.
Portland's Jake Cosart retired all eight in relief of Jimenez (5.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO). Cole Sturgeon extended his on-base streak to 14 games to begin the season. Jordan Betts reached base three times. 
The Sea Dogs and Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) conclude their three-game series on Sunday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM from Arm & Hammer Park. Lefty Kyle Hart (1-1, 5.59) makes his third start of the year for Portland. Trenton has yet to name their starter.
