Rehabbing Astros right-hander José Urquidy held San Antonio to one hit and one walk over four scoreless innings. Urquidy, who fanned four and threw 37 of 53 pitches for strikes, briefly continued working in the bullpen following his outing.
CC struck in the second as base hits from Zach Daniels and Chad Stevens were followed by a three-run home run off the bat of Jordan Brewer.
Stevens went deep in the fourth, a solo shot to right-center for his third home run in four games.
Aaron Brown earned the victory for the Hooks, scattering three hits and two walks while striking out four over four scoreless in relief. Brown, who left the bases loaded in the fifth, boasts a 1.49 ERA in his last nine appearances.
Daniels, who went 2-for-4 to up his hitting streak to seven games, clubbed a two-out blast to right in the eighth for CC's fifth run of the game. Daniels has eight homers and 21 extra-base hits in 40 games on the season.
Jacob DeLabio left two aboard in the ninth as the Hooks penned their fourth shutout win of the year.
