VANCOUVER, BC – The Vancouver Canadians managed a single run in two games against the Spokane Indians (Rockies) Sunday afternoon at Nat Bailey Stadium in a doubleheader sweep that split the series three games apiece.

In game one, the C’s had no answer for #15 Rockies prospect Joe Rock (W, 5-3). The lefty allowed a walk and a hit to the first two batters of the game but would only allow one more baserunner over seven scoreless innings to earn the win. He struck out nine in a 3-0 triumph.

Hunter Gregory (L, 1-3) and Naswell Paulino combined to allow three runs on five hits with two walks and five strikeouts over seven frames.

A three-run third in the second game was the difference for Spokane. All three runs in that inning were unearned despite Alejandro Melean’s (L, 2-1) best efforts over five innings in which he scattered four hits, walked one and struck out three.

Addison Barger hit his team-best eighth homer of the year in the fourth but that was all the offense would muster as they fell 5-1.

After an off-day Monday, the Canadians are in Pasco to take on Tri-City (Angels) on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. Catch all the action on CanadiansBaseball.com and the Sportsnet Radio Network.
