Voit Hits for the Cycle; Redbirds Win Twice on Sunday
DES MOINES, Iowa - Luke Voit finished hitting for the cycle in a 13-2 Memphis Redbirds romp in the resumption of last night's suspended game, and the Redbirds banged out 12 hits in a 6-1 victory in the regularly-scheduled third game of the series Sunday afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa.With

With the two victories, the first-place Redbirds improve to 51-32 on the season.
Resumed Game: Memphis 13, Iowa 2
After last night's game was suspended due to rain with Memphis leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, the Redbirds picked up right where they left off and scored in every inning once the contest was resumed.
After tripling in the first inning and singling in the third Saturday night, Voit finished the cycle with a fifth-inning double and a ninth-inning home run Sunday afternoon after also singling in the sixth.
He became the first Redbird to hit for the cycle since Mark Little on June 23, 2000, and he finished the ballgame 5-for-6 with five RBI.
Mercado stole his 19th base of the season in the win.
