Corpus Christi was limited to four hits and three walks by a trio of Naturals hurlers.
Chad Stevens put the Hooks on the board with a lead-off homer in the third, his second long ball over the past three games.
Wagner, batting .309 in 29 games for Corpus Christi went deep in the sixth and eighth, making him 7-for-9 with five runs, a double, three dingers and five RBIs since his five hit-day on Sunday.
The Naturals snapped the 2-2 stalemate in the seventh on a two-run single off the bat of Cayden Wallace. Javier Vaz added insurance with a lead-off dinger in the eighth.
Handcuffed by a 29-pitch first inning, which featured a pair of unearned runs for Northwest Arkansas, Rhett Kouba, who struck out six and walked one, was forced from his start after working for innings. It marked the first time in nine assignments that Kouba did not complete at least five frames.
