Of the 17 half-innings that a team came to bat, 11 resulted in at least one run. Twice in the game, Arkansas came back from two runs down to either tie or take the lead. The Traveler offense drew 10 walks in addition to their 11 hits while eight of the nine batters scored at least one run. Three relievers combined for 4.2 innings allowing just two runs on six hits as the offense clawed their way to the lead. Moments That Mattered

  • Trailing by two in the fifth, Arkansas scored three times on three walks, an error, an infield hit and a sacrifice fly. Joe DeCarlo drew a walk with the bases loaded to tie the score and then Yonathan Mendoza's sac fly put the Travs on top.
  • After Springfield tied it in the top of the sixth, the Travs put together a two out rally in the bottom of the inning. Joey Curletta singled and Dario Pizzano doubled setting the stage for Curletta to race home with the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.
  • Ryon Healy padded the lead with a 3-run homerun with two out the next inning.
  • Springfield threatened in the eighth, scoring once on a bases loaded walk with one out. Art Warren came out of the bullpen and recorded a strikeout and a groundout to end the threat and strand three Cardinals.
