(Peoria, IL) - The Burlington Bees (31-37) lost a rain-shortened game to the Peoria Chiefs (29-39), 3-2, on Saturday night at Dozer Park in Peoria. 

(Peoria, IL) - The Burlington Bees (31-37) lost a rain-shortened game to the Peoria Chiefs (29-39), 3-2, on Saturday night at Dozer Park in Peoria. 

Peoria took the lead in the third inning. Brian O'Keefe started the inning with a solo home run to left field, giving the Chiefs a 1-0 lead.
With one out in the top of the fourth inning, Keith Grieshaber reached on an error and then stole second base. After a strikeout, Jordan Zimmerman launched a home run to center field, giving the Bees a 2-1 lead.
Peoria answered in the fifth inning. J.R. Davis led off the inning with a line drive over the left-field wall, tying the game at two. It was another home run that gave the Chiefs the lead for good as Brian O'Keefe smashed opposite field home run in the sixth, putting the Chiefs on top, 3-2.
After the home run from O'Keefe, the rain came caused the early finish to the game, snapping the Bees' eight-game win streak. Max Almonte (2-0) earned the win while Ty Barkell (1-2) was charged with the loss. 
The Bees and Chiefs wrap up the first half on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Nate Bertness makes the start for the Bees against Bryan Dobzanski for Peoria. 
NOTES: Bees losing streak snapped at eight games. Jack Kruger extended hitting streak to eight games with a fifth-inning single. Jordan Zimmerman has driven in four runs in the first two games of the series.
