WICHITA – Home runs by Anthony Prato and Edouard Julien highlighted a 15-hit attack for the home club as Wichita upended Corpus Christi, 8-5, before 3,089 fans at Riverfront Stadium.
Alex Isola, Will Holland, who was making his Double-A debut, and Leobaldo Cabrera each pulled down three knocks as each man in the Wind Surge lineup reached base.
Sidewinder Devin Conn was the lone Hook to keep Wichita at bay, posting zeros in the seventh and eighth while throwing all 12 pitches for strikes.
Grae Kessinger helped the Hooks manufacture a run in the third. After recording a lead-off single, Kessinger stole second and then swiped third before scampering home on a double by Joe Perez.
C.J. Stubbs gave CC its second marker with a two-out RBI single in the third while two-baggers by Perez and Shay Whitcomb paved the way to a two-run fifth.
Perez is 5-for-9 with four doubles and three RBIs in his last two games. Whitcomb is 5-for-9 with three runs and two RBIs thus far in the series.
Quincy Hamilton, who recorded two outfield assists in the sixth, cracked a lead-off double to right-center in the eighth, helping the Hooks to their fifth run.
