Rattlers and Hot Rods Start, but Can't Finish

BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Bowling Green Hot Rods were tied 3-3 heading in to the bottom of the seventh inning at Bowling Green Ballpark on Saturday night. The game was heading for an exciting finish, but the finish will have to wait. A weather delay turned into a severe thunderstorm and the game was suspended after a delay of about 45 minutes.
Bowling Green took the lead in the bottom of the second inning with an unearned run.
Jonathan Qsar put the Hot Rods up 2-0 with a one-out, solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Wisconsin rallied to tie the game in the top of the sixth inning
The score did not stay tied for long. The first two Bowling Green hitters in the bottom of the sixth inning to reach base.
The Rattlers evened the score again in the top of the seventh. Jesús Lujano struck out for what should have been the second out of the inning, but reached base on a dropped third strike.
There was a large flash of lightning above the stadium before the start of the Bowling Green half of the seventh inning and the tarp was placed on the field. The rain started about ten minutes later and play was called just before 10:00pm.
The contest will resume on Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm and played to its conclusion. A nine-inning game will follow the end of the suspended game.
