GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have been honored by their peers in Minor League Baseball with a pair of Golden Bobblehead Awards for their Salute to Cows promotion that involved changing the team name to the Udder Tuggers. Representatives of the team were on hand to accept the awards on Thursday night at the close of Minor League Baseball's Promotional Seminar in El Paso, Texas.
The Timber Rattlers won their first Golden Bobblehead of the night for Best Theme Night. The second Golden Bobblehead was presented to the Timber Rattlers for the Best Overall Promotion. The voting took place in El Paso earlier on Thursday afternoon.

The Best Overall Promotion competition was tough as the Rattlers were battling with finalists from all categories up for Golden Bobbleheads. Those categories included Best In-Game Promotion, Best Non-Gameday Event, Best Community Promotion or Event, and Best Digital Campaign or Activation with teams from all levels of Minor League Baseball.

"We started Salute to Cows several years ago and it has been one of our biggest nights of every season. The dairy industry is still very important to the state of Wisconsin and the change to the Udder Tuggers for the night is our way to show support for the dairy industry and also a nod to the dairy farmers of the past," said Timber Rattlers president Rob Zerjav in the release to announce the promotion and the name change for the 2019 promotion on June 2.

The reaction to the announcement was overwhelming as merchandise for the Udder Tuggers sold out in five hours and went through several reorders.

Salute to Cows was held on June 20 with the Udder Tuggers defeating the Clinton LumberKings 5-2 in front of 5,842 fans. That night featured Wisconsin's largest home attendance of the season.

"I am extremely proud of the work our staff did to make this year's Salute to Cows so memorable for our fans and for our colleagues in Minor League Baseball," Zerjav said on Thursday night. "We also want to thank Brandiose for their help developing the Udder Tuggers brand and logos."

"It has been an incredible season and we are going to take a moment to enjoy this," said Zerjav. "Then, we will get back to work and do our best to be even better next year."

It has been a busy award week for the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Wisconsin had been announced as the Midwest League's 2019 nominee for the national John H. Johnson President's Award on Wednesday. This is the second consecutive season for the Rattlers to be the nominee.

The John H. Johnson Award is presented annually by Minor League Baseball to recognize the "complete baseball franchise - based on franchise stability, contributions to league stability, contributions to baseball in the community, and promotion of the baseball industry". The award is named after John Johnson, who was the president of Minor League Baseball from 1979 to 1988.

Wisconsin's schedule for the
