Rattlers Win Big Over Beloit

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers won their fourth straight game with a 10-3 victory over the Beloit Snappers on Monday night at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. The Timber Rattlers offense collected 16 hits in the game, rallied from an early deficit, and blew the game open with a five-run sixth inning.
Joantgel Segovia put the Timber Rattlers (17-19) in front in the first inning. The Wisconsin lead-off batter lifted a flyball over the fence in left for his first home run of the season. Later in the first, Demi Orimoloye tripled to drive home Payton Henry for a 2-0 lead.

The Snappers (13-18) tied the game in the top of the third inning. Jordan Devencenzi hit a homer to start the inning. Nick Allen followed with a single and an errant pickoff throw by Wisconsin starter Alec Bettinger allowed Allen to take third. Trace Loehr got Allen home with a sacrifice fly.

Beloit took the lead in the fourth. Logan Farrar doubled to start the inning, but he was still at second base with two outs. Jesus Lopez delivered a two-out single to drive in Farrar and the Snappers were up 3-2.

Orimoloye erased that lead in the fifth inning. Henry, who had four hits on Monday night, singled with two outs to get the inning to Orimoloye. The Wisconsin left fielder crushed a 3-1 pitch over the batters' eye in center field for a two-run homer and a 4-3 Wisconsin lead.

The Rattlers poured in on the Snappers with two outs in the sixth inning to put the game away. KJ Harrison was at first with two outs when Nick Roscetti dropped a bunt single. Segovia was next and he doubled to left to score Harrison. Tristen Lutz followed with a two-run single and that knocked Beloit starter Xavier Altamirano out of the game. 

Henry greeted reliever Joshua Reagan with a triple to right-center that scored Lutz. Henry scored the fifth and final run of the inning on a wild pitch and the Rattlers were up 9-3.

The Rattlers tacked on one more run in the seventh inning on an RBI double by Gabriel García.

Bettinger tossed six innings as the starting pitcher for the Rattlers. He allowed three runs - two earned - and struck out five. Bettinger's start was the fifth straight quality start by Wisconsin's pitchers.

Braulio Ortiz worked a scoreless seventh and eighth to maintain the lead. Matt Hardy worked a 1-2-3 ninth to close out the game.

Segovia went 3-for-5 on Monday to raise his batting average to .410. He also moved his current on-base streak to 27 games. Segovia has been on base in 30 of the 31 games he has played for Wisconsin this season.
The Timber Rattlers and Snappers will play two on Tuesday afternoon. The game between the teams at Pohlman Field in Beloit on April 6 was frozen out and postponed to May 15. First pitch for game one is 12:05pm. The Rattlers have named Bowden Francis (1-1, 3.60) and Carlos Herrera (0-2, 5.33) as their starting pitchers. Beloit plans on Jared Poché (0-1, 3.38) and Bryce Conley (1-2, 5.74) as their starters. Both games of the twinbill are scheduled for seven innings. Game two will start approximately thirty minutes after the conclusion of game one.
