A 2-0 lead held up for most of the game as Arredondo dazzled. He only allowed two hits while retiring the first seven batters then 11 in a row on separate streaks in the game. He left a runner stranded on second to close his start in the seventh with a strikeout.
Wednesday marked the 24th start of Arredondo's career without allowing a walk (out of 52, 46%). Arredondo also lowered his ERA to 2.28 on the season, the fifth-best in the league.
