The Down East Wood Ducks hosted the Fredericksburg Nationals for thirsty Thursday and game three of the series. The Nationals had two singles in the top of the 1st by Armando Cruz and Brandon Pimentel. A fielding error by third baseman Gleider Figuereo allowed Roismar Quintana to get on first base and Cruz to score, 1-0. The Wood Ducks started the bottom of the 1st inning with an Echedry Vargas walk. Then Figuereo hits a double, followed by a groundout from Erick Alvarez allowing Vargas to score, 1-1. With Figuereo on third base Arturo Disla grounded out bringing home Figuereo, 1-2.

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings are scoreless for both teams with singles, strikeouts, groundouts, and lineouts. The Wood Ducks started the top of the 5th inning with a pitching change as Paul Bonzagni came in for Kohl Drake. The Nationals get Cruz on base but leave him there. In the bottom of the 5th inning the Nationals brought in Samuel Vasquez in at pitcher. Then Julian Brock hits a single, followed by a single from Wady Mendez. Tommy Specht doubles to bring home Brock, 1-3. Then Vargas hits a double bringing home Mendez and Specht, 1-5.

The Nationals started the top of the 6th inning with a single from Elijah Green immediately followed by a single from Jose Colmenares. Nathaniel Ochoa Leyva hits a double to left field bringing home Green and Colmenares, 3-5. The Wood Ducks closed out the top of the 6th with three strikeouts in a row.

The Wood Ducks scored the last run of the game in the bottom of the 7th inning. Moises Diaz came in as pitcher for the Nationals. Then Mendez hits a single to left field. Mendez gets on third base, then Tommy Specht hits a ground out bringing home Mendez, 3-6.

The Wood Ducks win game three of the series 3-6, with eight hits and one error. The Nationals had nine hits and one error.

The Wood Ducks host the Fredericksburg Nationals for Mother Earth Friday and Habitat for Humanity night at Historic Grainger Stadium located in Kinston, North Carolina.
