Yankees RHP Ian Hamilton Scheduled To Rehab In Somerset On Sunday

Bridgewater, New Jersey – The New York Yankees have announced that RHP Ian Hamilton is currently scheduled for an MLB rehab assignment with the Double-A Somerset Patriots on Sunday, June 18. The Patriots take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at 1:05 pm at TD Bank Ballpark.

Hamilton was placed on the injured list on May 17 with a right groin strain. He is 1-1 with a 1.23 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched in 16 appearances this season for New York.

Hamilton was the 11^th round pick of the Chicago White Sox in the 2016 MLB Draft and signed with the Yankees as a free agent on January 27, 2023.

He made his MLB debut on August 31, 2018 versus Boston and went a perfect inning. He has an MLB career 2-3 record with a 2.70 ERA and 39 strikeouts over 36.2 innings in 31 games all in relief for the White Sox (2018, 2020) and Minnesota Twins (2022).

Hamilton will be the seventh Yankee to rehab with Somerset this season and 23^rd overall since becoming the Yankees Double-A affiliate in 2021.
