Reno, Nev. - In game three of the four-game set between Reno and Tacoma, Jake Buchanan paved the way to an Aces win by striking out five Rainier batters and only allowing one run. Yasmany Tomás led the Aces offensively going 3-for-4 while hitting his eighth and ninth home runs of the season. The win improves Reno to a record of 48-49, placing the Aces just 7.5 games behind first-place Fresno.
The Rainiers jumped out to the early 1-0 lead tonight when Daniel Vogelbach doubled into left field which scored Gordon Beckham. Two home runs in the bottom of the third would help the Aces tie and take the lead in the ballgame. The first homer was a 407-foot blast from Yasmany Tomas tying the game at one, the second came off the bat of Juniel Querecuto put the Aces in front with a two-run home run and give Reno the 3-1 advantage. Reno plated two in the middle frames courtesy of a Querecuto sacrifice fly scoring Kristopher Negrón and a Sócrates Brito big fly to give Reno the 5-1 lead. Jake Buchanan kept the Tacoma bats quiet all night going 7.0 innings while striking out five and surrendering only one run. Vogelbach cut the Aces lead to two with a home run to right field, but Tomas put the game out of reach in the eighth with his second home run of the night to give Reno the 7-3 victory.
