Zach Davis capitalized on an error in the sixth when he made it to second after a routine throw from shortstop to first that ended up in the Smokies' dugout. The Smokies then added two runs in three pitches. Burks lined the first pitch to left scoring Davis and stretching the Smokies lead to 4-1. On a 1-0 count, Gioskar Amaya hit a ground-rule double to left plating Burks.
