NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers are proud to announce the Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Softball Classic to take place Sunday, August 6th at Dodd Stadium. Four-time Grammy Award winner Jeffrey Osborne will head a team of all-stars for a charity softball game beginning at 12 pm. The game will give fans a chance to see some of sports greatest names; those scheduled to appear include: basketball's Paul Pierce, James Worthy, Doc Rivers, John Starks and Rick Barry; NFL Hall Of Famers Eric Dickerson and Andre Reed, baseball's Ozzie Smith, Dave Stewart, "Oil Can" Boyd and countless others.
Fans of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots will be treated to scheduled appearances by Steve Grogan, Ty Law, Joe Andruzzi, Jermaine Wiggins and Roland James, among others.
Plenty of other celebrities will be on hand as well including Smokey Robinson, Chris Tucker, Cedric The Entertainer and Johnny Gill scheduled to appear.
The Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Softball Classic gets underway at 12 pm on August 6th at Dodd Stadium in Norwich. Gates will open at 11 am. Tickets are just $14 for premium box seat, $12 for a reserved box seat, and $10 for a grandstand seat. There will be a $2 discount for members of the military, and $1 off for senior citizens and kids 12 and under. There will also be a VIP pre-game BBQ ticket option, which includes 90 minutes of all-you-can-eat BBQ and an on-field experience with the opportunity for pictures and autographs for $40.

The Connecticut Tigers will take on the Staten Island Yankees on August 6th beginning at 4:05 pm. The two events are separate events and will require separate entrance and tickets.
