The Cardinals bats turned into cannons in its 11-2 victory over the visiting Marauders in Thursday afternoon's series finale.
Bradenton scored its only two runs of the game in the opening frame on four total hits. Palm Beach starter Jake Walsh stranded two runners on base and cruised from there. He finished with five innings thrown and struck out five along the way.
Palm Beach took no time to reset the score as Dylan Carlson hit a two-run homer, his fourth of the season, in the bottom half of the first to knot the score at two.
Kramer Robertson's fourth inning RBI groundout gave Palm Beach a 3-2 edge, a lead they would not relinquish.
The Cardinals put up three more runs in the fourth, one in the seventh, and four more in the eighth inning.
Shane Billings, Dylan Carlson, Andy Young, and Brian O'Keefe, Palm Beach's two through four hitters, scored all 11 runs with O'Keefe's four leading the way. Carlson had three of his own with Young and BIllings each scoring twice.
Taylor Bryant had a game high three hits and four RBI --- Three of which came with two outs.
Ryan McCarvel added two more RBI.
Out of the bullpen, Jacob Patterson had his fifth straight scoreless outing after pitching 1 2/3 innings. Over his last 10 appearances, Patterson has allowed just one earned run in 15 2/3 innings.
Robbie Gordon threw a scoreless 1 1/3 innings of his own before Will Latcham tossed the ninth without allowing a Marauder to reach base.
As a team, Palm Beach went 6-15 with runners in scoring position.
The Beach Birds also walked a season high 10 times.
The Cardinals will remain at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium but will play the role as vistors when they face off against the Jupiter Hammerheads. First pitch is set for 6:30 PM on Friday. Tickets and more info can be found at Rogerdeanchevroletstadium.com/tickets-events
