JUPITER, FL - The Palm Beach Cardinals (32-25) fell to the Dunedin Blue Jays (29-28) by a final score of 8-1 on Sunday afternoon at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. The Cardinals had their losing streak extended to three games as Dunedin took the series 4-2. Palm Beach still holds a one-game lead for the FSL East Division over the Jupiter Hammerheads.

It was a pitchers' duel between Palm Beach starting pitcher Jason Savacool (L, 1-3) and Dunedin starting pitcher Gage Stanifer (W, 2-2) through the first four and a half innings of the ballgame.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Cardinals loaded the bases off of Stanifer thanks to a single and two walks. Ross Friedrick would hit a line-drive sacrifice fly to center field which scored Chase Adkison to give Palm Beach a 1-0 lead.

However, like most of the series, Dunedin would provide an immediate response in the top of the sixth inning. Bryce Arnold led off the frame with an infield single and two batters later Victor Arias drove him in on an RBI double which tied the ballgame 1-1. Two batters later, Cristian Feliz launched his 10th home run, a two-run shot to right field, which gave the Blue Jays their first lead at 3-1.

Savacool finished his start with a season-high 5 2/3 innings pitched and allowed three earned runs on five hits and walked one batter while striking out four batters.

The Cardinals offense could not get back on the scoreboard in the ballgame and the Blue Jays would pad their lead with five runs scored in the top of the eighth to ultimately secure the series finale victory by a final score of 8-1. For Dunedin, it was their second series victory on the road. Palm Beach finishes the home stand at 7-5.

The Cardinals will hit the road for their longest road trip of the season beginning on Tuesday, June 11th against Daytona for the start of a six-game series. Palm Beach will then travel to Tampa to take on the Tarpons for six games. The Cardinals return home on Tuesday, June 25th when they welcome the St. Lucie Mets.
