The Clydesdales’ appearance in Pensacola is one of hundreds made annually around the country by one of the three teams of traveling hitches, based out of the operational headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri.

Brought to the U.S. in the mid-1800s as draft horses used for farm work, today the Clydesdales are used primarily for breeding and show.

The Clydesdales became the mascot of Anheuser-Busch in 1933, when a team of the majestic horses was presented to August A. Busch Sr. to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition.

Now, 90 years later, the celebrity horses are staples of fairs, festivals and sporting events. Most notably, the Clydesdales have marched in two presidential inauguration parades.

We are honored to have the opportunity to bring the Budweiser Clydesdales to Pensacola," said Chad Bonner, President of Lewis Bear Company, an Anheuser-Busch distributor. "Giving the fans of all ages in our community a chance to see and take a picture with these magnificent animals in all their glory is a chance of a lifetime for many. The Clydesdales are true ambassadors of the Budweiser brand,” said Bonner.

In addition to the appearances across the country, the Budweiser Clydesdales can be viewed at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery and at Grant’s Farm, both located in St. Louis, as well as seen at Warm Springs Ranch, the 300-plus acre Clydesdale breeding farm located in Boonville, Missouri.
