MLB Pipeline ranked Beck as the No. 95 prospect in the 2020 Draft... Baseball America ranked him at No. 84 and as well as the No. 1 junior college prospect... traded by the Yankees along with RHP Chandler Champlain and LHP T.J. Sikkema to the Kansas City Royals for LF Andrew Benintendi on July 27, 2022... was assigned to Quad Cities following the trade.

Made seven appearances for Northwest Florida State in 2020, going 5-0 with a 0.67 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 40 innings... threw two complete games, allowed just three earned runs and walked nine batters... prior to NWF, he attended Divsision II Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina, where he struck out 31 and owned a 3.98 ERA in 20 1/3 innings... pitched for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2019, going 2-2 with a 3.29 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings acorss 11 outings, 10 of which came in relief... prior to committing to LSU, Way reportedly received offers from Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and Oregon State.

Attended Cumberland Valley (Pa.) High School where he was a fastball-slider pither and also played outfield.
